Modular buildings may evoke an image of single-story, oversized tin boxes, the realty is as varied as any other form of construction.
Highlights: Athletes Lodge in Whistler
When the 2010 Winter Olympics participants step into the 35,000 square foot Athletes Lodge in Whistler, they probably won’t realize the four stories of the structure were assembled like giant hollow building blocks. Cranes assembled the 59 component sections – manufactured by Britco Structures Ltd. – into a building that resembles a resort hotel.
“We’ve done some very high-end buildings,” said owner Mike Davies, citing the lodge as the largest 4 storey project completed by his company
Coastal Installations is the only company in B.C. that provides this level of expert pre-fabricated building and modular installations.
